We have a great many questions in Life...
Perhaps a good place to start is with 3 Starter Great Questions that we've all seem to have one or many times in our lives...
Who am I?
Who am I?
We all ask this question at some point or another...
When you're an Orphan you are denied the easy and automatic answers to this question...
You don't know who you really are...
Because you don't know your real birth name, your birthplace, your birth parents, how you came to be an Orphan...and a how lotta other questions...
At birth we all generally have an Identity bestowed upon us - A name, a birth family that will nurture and help us grow to adulthood, a family life that provides us a framework for both life and also for having our own family...
This is what I call the First Identity...which is the first answer to this question...
But it is not the last Answer...
For that is just the start that we're given in Life...
It may be an excellent start...or a poor start...a so-so start...or even a very, very poor and dysfunctional started in Life...
But it's the only one that we are given...
But it's not our ending or even our Real Identity...
Where am I?
Variant Questions: What is this Place? This Existence?
Most often we jump to the "Why am I Here?" question...
Perhaps because we just assume that where we are is where we're supposed to be...
But if that is so...
Then why is this place...this Earth Life...so hard to figure out and to live successfully and happily?
It seems that this should really be the Second Great Starter Question...
Most of us I think just accept how we're brought up and where we find ourselves...
But many of us find this place, this Earthly Life, to be...Strange...
And exactly WHY is that?
Years ago I thought, "Life is Strange..."
And unbidden a thought/voice/something commented on this:
"That would imply a lack of familiarity"
And it really does...
Why should we find Life...and Love...so strange and unfamiliar?
That's because we really don't belong here...
Why am I Here?
We seem to ask this question many, many times in our Lives...
When we're young and trying to find "our place in the world" we tend to ask it a lot...
We seek to belong to something...
We seek after we leave our birth and parenting family another new Family...
A new Tribe as it were...
Becoming and being an Adult in this Life means exploring and finding a set of Tribes to belong to - Schools/College/University, Job & Career, Social Organizations and Tribes, Political Tribes, Religious Tribes, Sports Tribes ("Go Pack!" Oh, sorry, it just sorta comes out from my childhood...), and a whole lotta other ones...
We as adults move between these Tribes as they suit us...We look for Answers, Safety & Protection, and sometimes even a Home and a Family in these Tribes...But this is mostly an Illusion that when we take it in and try living it because a Delusion that when we really need some help...We find that the offer was disengenuous...
It is said that Real Friends will be with you always thru "thick and thin"...
And that "fair weather friends" will only be there for the good times and will easily and thoroughly abandon you when the times "get rough"...
So it is with many modern tribes...loyalty flows only one way and not the other...
This world is a big uncaring place many people have commented...
And there is unfortunately much truth in that...
But...
Why would we think otherwise?
So Here We Start...
